Coimbatore Subchapter of Indian Radiological & Imaging Association, Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry Chapter is one of the earliest sub-chapters in the country, having been started in the year 2011. Dr A. Anbarasu, currently the ICRI Chairman pioneered the initiative along with Dr Boopathy Vijayaraghavan, both of whom served in the posts of founder Secretary & President respectively.
Over the years the Sub-chapter has grown from strength to strength, paralleling the expansion of dedicated Radiology Centers and Post graduate seats in the colleges and institutes in Coimbatore Region.
The Coimbatore Sub-chapter successfully hosted the 65th TNPY State IRIA Conference in Le Meridien Hotels in Dec 2012 and the 74th TNPY State IRIA Conference in PSG IMSR in Dec 2021.
It is the earnest hope that the Sub-chapter will continue to have a vibrant academic presence at the grass roots level and function as a springboard for young Radiologists to excel in Teaching & Organizational skills and prepare them for a larger role at the State & National forums.
